The Central Red Cross Blood Centre, Cuttack was inaugurated in the year 1959 by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. This is the first Blood Centre of the State of Orissa. It was primarily designed to meet the blood requirements of S.C.B. Cuttack Central Red Cross Blood Centre has received the award of excellence in the field of voluntary blood donation in the every year.
Here free blood is given to thalassemia patients. Blood is not demanded for blood in Red Cross Blood Centre.
